Our Team:

Mike Shepard joined Collins & Hermann in 1997 and used his entrepreneurial skills to start our Civil Construction team. He bought into the company in 2008 as a minority shareholder. He was nominated Chief Executive Officer & President in 2021 and is a major shareholder. Mike holds a BS in Construction from the School of Engineering at Southern Illinois University -Edwardsville and an MBA from Maryville University.

Utilizing his experience in construction and business he continues to lead the operations, overall management, growth, and planning at Collins & Hermann, Inc. Mike says the favorite part of his job is to assemble resources and a team to pursue new opportunities in the construction industry. His interests in the construction industry include his participation with SITE Improvement Association, Operating Engineer Local 513 Training, and the Greater St. Louis Laborer’s Welfare Fund. His local interests include the St. Louis City Police Athletic League. Mike’s interests outside of the company include his family, friends, golf, bird hunting, and antique firetrucks.

Mike has been with Collins & Hermann, Inc. since 1988, beginning at the company in the finance team.

Mike's undergraduate degree is from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed the MBA Program at Washington University in St. Louis. In his time with Collins and Hermann, he has moved through the Commercial/Highway Sales group, and progressed to Vice President of Sales for Collins and Hermann, prior to taking on his current position.

As Senior Vice President, Mike continues to be instrumental in the development and growth of the core business areas of the company, and in how the organization can stay focused on the needs of our customers.

Mike is also active in the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of St. Louis.

Mike’s favorite leisure activities include snow skiing and golf.

Jeremy joined Collins and Hermann in 2007 as Estimator and Project Manager of the Kansas City Branch. In 2014, he was promoted to General Manager KC Operations. Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Prior to joining Collins and Hermann, he worked as an Estimator, Project Manager and Sales Associate for Builders FirstSource and Centurion Stone Distributor. Jeremy is a member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC), the Heavy Contractors Association of Kansas City, the American Traffic Safety Services Association, and the Project Management Institute. Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys golfing, hunting and spending time with his family. jknernschield@collinsandhermann.com

Heidi has been with Collins & Hermann, Inc. since 2013.   Heidi spent several years as Assistant Controller and then Controller for Collins & Hermann and then was promoted to V.P. of Accounting & Finance in 2021.   Heidi earned a Bachelor of Science, Business Management from Missouri State University.  Upon relocation to the St. Louis area, she accepted a job in construction accounting and quickly realized it was the perfect fit.  Working in a smaller company provided great exposure to the many aspects of accounting, software and business processes that are necessary to successfully lead a construction accounting team.   Her favorite part of the job is finding new and innovative solutions to practices and procedures.  When not in the office, Heidi enjoys spending time with family and can often be found in the garden.
