In August 2021, a transition occurred with the retirement of second generation owner Tim Hermann. The ownership group and company is now led by: Mike Shepard, President & CEO; Mike Collins, Senior Vice President Highway & Commercial and Corporate Treasurer; Jeremy Knernschield, Vice President & General Manager – Kansas City. Our third generation of management seeks a continued presence and growth in the Midwest United States in highway, signing, civil construction, guardrail, commercial and industrial fencing.

Heidi Carver who started in our accounting department in 2013 and worked her way up to controller, has recently been promoted to Vice President of Accounting & Finance and continues in her role as our Corporate Secretary.

Collins & Hermann’s relationship with Ameren began with our Founder Jim Collins. Today we continue to work directly with Ameren at their powerplants and in their substations. We also continue substation fencing projects with L. Keeley Contracting, McGrath & Associates, and Tarlton. Work in the substation often includes industrial chain link fence, gates, and security cables.

Collins & Hermann is active in many areas of the Midwest installing guardrail, highway signs, and median guard cables. States we are currently mobilized include Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri. We will also be returning to Texas this spring.
