Founded by Garry Hermann and James Collins in 1973, Collins & Hermann is a specialty contractor that has expanded beyond its St. Louis roots to include a Kansas City office, and collectively serving many states throughout the Midwest. Focused on transportation, safety and site development components of small, medium and large projects, we are a reliable resource for government or civil projects with metal fabrication, guardrail, highway signs, fencing, civil construction and security barrier needs.

What began as a fledgling company equipped with small drill-mounted vehicles has now expanded into a full-service resource that features leading-edge equipment, including auger trucks, backhoes, excavators, rock drilling equipment, hydro excavation, and the finest tools on the market. We apply these tools and resources to efficiently and effectively solve the demanding and ever-changing needs of our clients. In 2021, the company continues to grow and added a new St. Louis corporate office and equipment maintenance facility. The third generation of ownership now includes Mike Shepard, Mike Collins, and Jeremy Knernschield. Our workforce continues to grow generationally with many family members of our tenured employees joining our company.
